The works consisted of renovating the interior of a residence for the elderly with loss of autonomy and enlarging it by adding 29 rooms. The works were carried out in phases, in order to keep the residence in operation during the works. The building has three floors including a basement.
The challenges of this project were the coordination of works by phase, the management of the unforeseen events during the demolition, noise and dust control, the sealing of all walls, floors and ceilings in order to maintain the fire resistance of all the components as well as the modification of mechanical (heating and air conditioning) and electrical systems while keeping the building in operation.
