OPTEL VISION – PHASE IV

INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION IN QUEBEC CITY

construction-industrielle-optel-vision-parc-technologique

Expansion of an existing building

Ronam Constructions services were selected to manage the construction project and the expansion of the Optel Vision headquarters. This project consisted of the construction of a building on two levels, including an all glass passageway connecting the two buildings. This passageway, also built on two levels, allows the employees to move the equipements between the dock, the warehouse and the production areas.

In order to meet the performance criteria on soil capacity, deforestation, grubbing and dynamic soil compaction were required. This project, achieved in a construction management mode, included some challenges faced by our team as respecting the tight schedule, installing several temporary shelters to counter the cold (the building’s architecture includes many windows) and finally, coordinating and installing various electrical and mechanical equipment.

The building expansion is independent of the existing one at any point. By removing the passageway that connects them, the two buildings could become completly independent if necessary. This expansion of Optel Vision’s head office includes a new reception area, production areas on the ground floor, office spaces and meeting rooms on the second floor, as well as a cafeteria, a gym and a roof-top terrace for the employees.
